In Parallel

Lines

Lines divide the early dusk
into roseate shades;

for miles they run in parallel,
powering
life's adopted necessities,

sometimes slagging,
sometimes touching,
rarely crossing;

the moon drifts like a lost note
between them --
lines on which music could sit.

**Inspired by HVP's photo "Moon Lines".

Oh really nice and I love the last stanza. I was thinking that very thought after I clicked on the picture. Great write. Thanks

I enjoyed this so much. Something about it made me want to drag out a canvas and paints and have at it. Beautiful word-painting.

Oh, I LOVE this!! The musical stave of morning. The moon like a lost note. So beautiful.

And YOUR sidebar button is up on my site now. I took one of the trees you had photographed and posted on Flickr, morphed it up a bit, popped on a raven and voila!!

Beautifully evocative writing - I knew what the pic would tell even before I saw it. The final stanza is exquisite.
