Some really neat lines here Raven. Love the opening question. Can never go wrong with a philosophical lead-in. And back to the lines, Dwindle this population until countable, and a shifted disposition, will regret the genocide. Really good write. Thanks

Enjoyed this alot!
The wrestling with the words - staccatto recreation - like playing with machine guns...taking genocide on.

Thank you for your great feedback, Fred and Kolembo. :)

Thank you, Sharon.

Very true, Raven! There can never be an end to conflicts. Self interest and greed can take the forms of state against state. Even at the expense of genocide! Great write!

this is a clever write...and also cool use of the 0 instead of O and celebrate un1ty...much said with few words..

this speaks to the geek in me somehow, the binary allusions underscoring that we are more than just numbers, yes?

Kaykuala, Claudia and Joanna -- thanks for your feedback.

Joanna:

I like your take on it. Because I didn't think of that.

I based it on an internet forum experience. The numbers are actually part of internet-speak or L33tspeak culture (Elite speak -- another internet term).

"O" gets substituted with 0 (zero) when you're trying to show that something is nothing or poor or crappy or a clone. Or it's a bad joke. Eg. There's a difference between a newbie and a n00bie. One is newcomer looking to learn, a n00bie is someone who never learns.

"1" gets inserted to show awesomeness. Emphasizing "yes, this one! the only one!"

At least that's what I was trying to express (sarcasm mostly) when I put the numbers in there.

loved the word play here, the o substituted by a 0, makes the word more meaningful. and "di/adversity" and "un1ty".

i was thinking about censorship when i read this, i don't know why. :)

I was just having a discussion about accepting and appreciating diversity instead of fighting against it. Then came here and read this. No coincidences I suppose.

Thanks for the education above about the numbers. I haven't seen that before.

dsnake: in a way, it kinda is. So much easier to shut someone off online I think.

darkangel: sometimes I think we are in the same stream of something. I've seen parallels in the themes among the poets on my bloglist sometimes, and not due to prompts.

Thanks for your comments. :)
