Very nice. I actually knew a guy with a koi pond here, which is odd due to the seasons we have, but I remember one day he came in to work and was in a foul mood, for a hawk, or so he said, came in and swooped up one of his expensive koi he had imported. I said just go to the story and buy a goldfish in a bag, not the same I know…Very nice write. Thanks

Fred: your post made me laugh -- I can imagine your friend might have felt like walloping you for that. If you gonna have them outdoors, and there are eagles and hawks about, best to have a net, not pretty, or else the pond has to be one of those with more plants and stones, so the hawk has a harder time making that dive. Cats can get at them too though.
