Bad chair
Shuffling around the house
looking for my phone,
I snubbed my little toe
against a foot of a chair
that was just standing there.
I cursed at the damn thing
for trying to trip me up;
the chair was wooden,
my toe was swelling up;
I limped my way to the fridge
got some ice, came back in,
sat down, instead,
on the low coffee table
as if
expecting chair to apologize
for causing me to stumble.
These things just happen.

LMAO oh I think we've all done this. But there the chair still sits refusing to apologize.
Yes, Pat, they are quite immovable like that. :)
no, that block of wood will never apologise. it will wait for another chance to trip you again. :D
nice fun read!
Yes, the legs of my bed and a couple of chairs have learned from me curse words in three languages.
Raven, I love the title, such a good one. This feeling I know all too well, those chairs, tables and what not do seem to get your toes and feet much more than one would guess, and I've also caught my self looking at the item, almost as you say, expecting an apology. Very nice. Thanks
you only really have to worry when it does...smiles...
ha, inantimate objects are def out to get me...
:)
xoxo
And hey, I think that was the shortest comment I ever left anyone. :)
Hope the toe is better.
And the chair behaves itself.
xo
dsnake and Brian: yes, I bet it is just plotting.
Nene: lol!
Fred: It just occurred to me and I thought it was kinda funny. :D Thanks.
Jannie: I'm happy it made you smile. :D
I did whack my toe so hard against a chair leg one time that it quite serious, and was bruised and swollen for days. I just try not to hurry about too much.
This happens to me the whole time....my elbows, my head...
I hope you are feeling better.
Your poor toe, hope it feels better soon. I suffer from the opposite problem where I say excuse me and I'm sorry to inanimate objects - ha. I've gotten better over the years.
@Heaven and Anna:
Thanks. I'm alright. It was some time since such a thing happened. *touch-wood! cuz it's still Friday the 13th*
Not funny :-(
Did this last year and it turned out two toes were broken. The pain of these little things was unbelievable. They told me to stay off it for six weeks. SIX weeks. I so hated to have to do without my daily walks. I give that chair a very wide berth now.
Love the way you get rid of your bad thoughts.
Ooh that's bad, aprille. :( I know what the pain felt like, and I can hardly imagine how many time worse it would have been if it was broken.
